Last days of Mid Autumn Harvest lanterns at Gardens by the Bay

It’s your last chance; make your way to Gardens by the Bay to enjoy some gorgeous lantern displays tonight, tomorrow night or sunday night!!!

The theme this year is Autumn Harvest.

Horns of plenty, with fruits spilling over, to the pleasure of the ants, that steal the fruit.

The ants are happy and on top of it. Literally!

I admit; it’s not as good this year as previous years. There are simply a lot less lanterns.

Fruits party and sugar rush for the ants, I think…

Nom, nom….

But still, the big displays on the water are gorgeous. Lilies, dragonflies, ducks, fish and a frog….

Lotus flowers…or are they water lilies? I always mix those up. Anyway, very poetic and pretty.

Don’t you just love this frog lantern?

What can you do in the Gardens, today, tomorrow and sunday?

Check out the lanterns all around the gardens in the first place.

It’s lovely to stroll around in the evening. Don’t forget insect repellent!

There are performances too. Check out the schedule here.

Some of the performers when we visited.

You can enjoy the daily light shows at 19.45 and 20.45 hrs. Note that the Super Trees are adorned for the occasion with dragonfly lanterns. Very pretty.

They built a whole village in one of the lakes. Love it!!!

The level of detail is amazing. As always. I just love Chinese lanterns. Imagine having those in the Amsterdam canals; that would be so cool!

In awe. What can I say…. So well made!

A walk on the OCBC SKYWALK is always fantastic. It DOES cost money (SGD 8) and tickets can sell out. Get your tickets in advance. Last admission 8.30 pm.

There’s also a Fun Zone where you can get creative.

There are plenty options for food and beverages on the premises. For the occasion there is Food Street.

But you can also bring your own and have a lovely picnic on the grass. It HAS been raining, so be sure to bring a plastic cloth to sit on.

Everything about the Gardens by the Bay keeps impressing me. It’s really an iconic creation that Frits and I have seen being built up from scratch.

Big rooster. After all it is the Year of the Rooster.

4000 light sticks are used to create rice paddies. The permanent sculpture of an ox fits perfectly in the scene.

Best thing of it all: all of this (apart from the skywalk and any food and beverages you buy) is completely free!

My videos did not turn out that great, but I’m adding them anyway.

I hope you’ll enjoy the Gardens by the Bay this weekend!

Yes I agreed that last year’s lanterns were better. But I am glad you enjoy yourself anyway… Gardens By The Bay is a amazing place. I go there at least once a month.

Me too, Stephen. I love the Gardens by the Bay! I still hope that one day I will spot the otters there. Somehow they are never ‘home’ when I am there, ha ha ha.
