In 2009 my husband got a job in Singapore.
Since then I live 6 months per year in the Netherlands and the other 6 months in Singapore.
During my months in Singapore, I accompany my husband to wherever his job brings him.
At one point he worked 18 months in India. I was with him there for 6 months in total.

Visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra.
We stayed in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. Not cities of our choice, but we had a good time nevertheless.

Street art in Mumbai.

Food stall in Pune.
Luckily we also managed to do some traveling every now and then. We went to Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan (Jaipur, Udaipur, Amber, Pushkar), Kerala (Kochi, Varkala), Goa, Mysore and Chandigarh. No, I can’t complain;-).
I enjoyed the Ganesh Chaturthi festival enormously, Holi was a spectacle and a feast for the eyes (as long as you don’t get any color powder IN your eyes;-)) and visiting Nek Chand Rock Garden was a dream come true.

During the more then a week long Ganesh celebrations in Pune there were Ganeshes everywhere in spectacular decorations.

Children covered in color powder during Holi in Mumbai.

Visiting Nek Chand’s Rock Garden was one of the highlights of my life. SO special and impressive!!!
I danced tango and DJ-ed in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore, met lovely, interesting people and made new friends.

My friend Pooja from Pune.
All in all, India was fascinating, colorful, surprising, awful, extreme and overwhelming.
