It’s Valentine’s Day!
Love it or loathe it, embrace it or ignore it, but it’s here again. Hope y’all have a lovely Valentine’s Day.

Rainbow roses and a pink poodle
My husband surprised me with three rainbow roses and a pink poodle. He knows me so well ! Ticking off four of my boxes: more is more, lots of colour, kitsch and pets.

In this Video you can hear her yapping and see her moving around.
Fun fact: just hours before I unwrapped my pink poodle, I was wasting time doing research on Instagram. Doing so, I stumbled upon a Turkish dog-groomer (how on earth does one stumble upon a Turkish hair salon for dogs? Don’t ask, no clue. Guess I got lost, deep in underground Instagram. I’m curious and adventurous like that;-)) whose feed shows lots of doggies with turquoise paws, a hot pink fluffy tail or mermaid hair. I’m not kidding. Dyeing your pets hair in candy colors seems to be the latest hype.
Who knew that only hours later I myself would be the happy mama of a pink poodle named Valentina?! 😉
2 x dinner for 2
And that was not all. Yesterday we went for dinner, during which Frits told me that he booked us a table for Valentine’s Day.

Yesterday’s dinner at Margarita’s, a lovely Mexican restaurant at Dempsey Hill, Singapore.
The rest is a surprise, so I don’t know where we’re going, just that I should dress up.
How sweet of him!
Yep, he definitely is my Valentine. Has been so for the past 10 years. And hopefully will be for decades to follow

Love locks
The ritual of symbolically sealing your love with a love lock is known all over the world.
We attached such a lock of love in Seoul and one in Singapore.

A heart for attaching your love lock in Singapore.
I wrote a step-by-step guide about love locks, in case you are thinking about attaching your own lock.
Love is all you need
In the end, it’s all about love, ofcourse. THAT’s what matters. Not Valentine’s Day nor Love Locks. These are just concepts, formats, rituals. (Great) excuses to express your love for one another.
I’m just a sucker for everything that comes with it. Any reason to celebrate life, to colour my world, to dress up, throw confetti and decorate the room, is good enough for me.
What about you? Do you like Valentine’s day and celebrations in general? Or do you find them commercialized events that you don’t care for at all? Any special plans for today?
So fun that you have all these photos of you two on Valentine’s Day.
I am planning a high tea for us, although we don’t normally celebrate, choosing instead to celebrate when we first met on Feb 16th.
bisous
Suzanne
How was the high tea?
I am so glad to see all these happy pictures of you two. Indeed Frits knows you well. Ron blew up heartshaped balloons at 5 in the morning for me to find when I got up.
Aren’t we blessed?
Greetje
Yes, we are, dear Greetje.
I have been looking but can not find it, where exactly do you find the heart for attaching your love lock in Singapore?
When you exit Clark Quay MRT through the shopping mall towards the river, you see a small fence on the right side and a bit more to the right you find a metal heart.
