The last time though was a while ago, so when I was in the neighborhood recently, I decided to have another look.
I love quaint, quirky places like this. Part shop, part museum, housed in one of those high-in-demand shophouses. What’s not to like?!
The place is stuffed with toys and games from the old days, for prices almost like in these old days. Little knick-knacks, vintage stuff, collectors items, it’s all there.
It is privately owned by some passionate collectionneurs.
I bought a tiny item for 50 cents, after which the man invited me further inside. I was a bit hesitant, especially when he made some remarks that might be interpreted as hidden flirtations or flattery. But maybe they were not. I was not sure…..and I still am not.
But hey, this was Singapore, in the middle of the day, in a busy shopping area, so I was not scared or anything.
Like most shophouses, this one too has an interior courtyard. The courtyard of the Children Little Museum is decorated with the coolest memorabilia, like an old Vespa and classic Coke-items.
The man asked me to come in the courtyard, give him my camera and pose. On the scooter, in the sidecar, behind the mic. He took at least 20 pictures.
When I had enough, I thanked him, said goodbye and left. His face showed no expression. He made no effort to sell me anything nor to make me stay. He had not taken any pictures with a camera of his own.
Until this day I am a bit puzzled by this experience. Why this enthusiastic (from his side) photoshoot? To divert himself? To show of his cool courtyard?
I have no clue. At least the pictures are nice and I do love this small, strange shop/museum!
During that last visit I skipped the second floor. I definitely want to go back to revisit the museum on the second floor and take more time for my visit.
Did you visit this shop/museum? How was your experience?

Oh my, I would love this place 😀 Even the robot is so awesome
!
Oh, I am sure you would, Lara! I went back there sunday and visited the museum upstairs. I am going to write about it soon!
I love the photos of you with the old microphone. And your dress! LOVELY! matches your eyes. Hey is that a pin I know that I see in your hair? So cool!
Great photos at least.
bisous
Suzanne
Yes, it is the pin you sent me, Suzanne. Looks nice, hein?!
