The W Singapore. Part 3.

December 6, 2013

After explaining to you the W Singapore’s theme ‘Glowing Jungle’ and showing you around at it’s AWAY spa, today’s post is about whispering and weeing.

Say whaaaat? Yes, you heard me: whispers and wees.

Remember the picture of W Singapore’s so called Insider Cara with some sort of device on her head? Well, there are a couple of them hanging grouped together and the W calls them ‘Whisper Booths’.

They can be pulled higher and lower, depending on the height of the person that wants to use it. According to the W they are meant for phone calls or escapes. For those moments that the noise (parties at the W hotels can get quite loud) becomes too much or you need to make a phone call. Or for a private moment with your lover.

The Whisper Booths supposedly keep out most of the noise around you.

I see it mainly as a gimmick, fitting in the quirkiness that’s typical for the W hotels. And as such they are fun, don’t you think?

What about the weeing, you may wonder….

Well, the restrooms in the W Singapore are something else! There too there is a lot to see, from walls to ceiling and all in between. Come with me and let’s take a wee….not! Just kidding;-).

But do have a look around:

As you can see the walls and ceiling have huge images in bold red-orange colors. Let’s have a closer look, shall we?

We see a flamboyant lady and a lot of flowers. The wood of the paneled doors matches perfect with the glass panels.
These glass panels on the walls and ceiling seem to be pictures or posters, covered by textured glass.

It is as if a whole lot of glass beads have been sprinkled over the image.

Another lady. And did you notice how the red floral theme continues on the adjacent mirror?!

Then the ceiling:

Another Lady in Red surrounded by flowers. Pretty.

On the next picture we see better how the flowers continue on the mirror.

How about those orchid lamps? They fit in so well with the rest!

And last, but not least, there is the wash basin. Quite spectacular in shape and material.

By now you may begin to wonder what the rooms are like in the W Singapore, since I have shown you everything BUT the rooms so far.
No worries, dear readers, no worries. I am saving the most spectacular and luxurious for last.
But before I get to that, I have a few more W things up my sleeve, so stay tuned and enjoy this W Singapore tour.

So what do you think of the Whisper Booths and the restrooms?

The restrooms are fantastic. The amount of work that goes into creating a space like that is incredible.
