The W Singapore. Part 2

December 5, 2013

Yesterday I told you about the Glowing Jungle theme of the W hotel in Singapore, illustrated by many gorgeous pictures.

In today’s post I’m gonna walk you around at the AWAY Spa in the W Singapore. It’s gonna be just a quick walk, since I did not use the Spa there. That means that I also did not get a full tour. But I can at least show you the interior design there.

It is done as tastefully and original as the rest of the hotel.

Have a look…

In the reception area of the AWAY spa we see a lot of wood and marble.

My friend Simone and I were welcomed with a small, tasteful drink. Don’t remember what it was. I thought something with ginger…

I particularly like the chandeliers. They consist of ‘teacups’ made from very thin ceramics. It creates a beautiful light and atmosphere.

The furniture resembles big rocks and pebbles.

But here too, appearances are deceiving; they are actually made out of felt. (Next to the use of wood and marble)

Lovely carpet too.

The doors towards the wet area are surrounded by a gorgeous big mosaic.

Bamboo, flowers, totally ‘in style’ with the theme.

Don’t you think Simone and I fit in perfectly as well, with our color schemes and my floral dress?;-)

We were given a quick peak in one of the spa treatment rooms. Very atmospheric with nice details.

Lotus leaf shaped doorknobs
Ripple art
Wooden cupboard looking like rippled water.
Twisted handles on cupboard.
Robe hooks that look like stiletto heels;-)
Even the massage table looks beautiful, thanks to the poetic cover and the dreamy light.

The light scheme in the hotel plays a major role. Purple, the color of the national orchid, has the lead in this.
Having said that, the hotel is all about being ‘green’ as in sustainable and energy-saving-savvy. It not only ‘asks’ guests to not unnecessarily ask for clean beds and towels, but it actually rewards them for behaving green, by giving them extra points (award program) for it!
Does anyone have experience with the AWAY Spa treatments in this hotel? If so, do let us know via the comments! We would love to hear from you.
