Farewell, Taipei

September 8, 2013

In the previous posts you hopefully got a pretty good idea of Taipei and the area around Taipei.

With this summary of my personal highlights, I conclude my Taipei series.

The W Taipei hotel definitely was a highlight for me. Very cool hotel.

As was our Fabulous Suite with a View….on the Taipei 101!
And our bathtub with a view…also on the Taipei 101!
Other highlights were: my first Japanese-style toilet….
…the ice-cream of Kitchen, the hotel restaurant….
….the views from Taipei 101……
…the views from Maokong Mountin….
…the temples on Maokong Mountain….
…the other temples we visited…
…the ceramic cut-and-glue decorations….
…the XXXXL eyebrows….
…the temple paper puppets…
…strolling through the small villages along the Psi Hing Branch Railway…
The excruciating heat was not always a highlight. It was soooooooo hot!!!!!
I liked the area around the MOCA museum.
And this exhibit at the MOCA.
I love this small cape that will go around the shoulders of one of my statues at home.
And I also love the many small cat souvenirs that I found, like stickers and fridge magnets.

And some last observations:
many people don’t speak english and you don’t see many caucasians around.

My next posts will be about Singapore and after that it’s gonna be Hong Kong. Stay tuned for more travel stories and pictures!
