Baoan Temple, Taipei

September 1, 2013

Diagonally across the street from the Confucius Temple, you find the Baoan Temple plus it’s garden and event area.

There was an upcoming event. I don’t know which one. Can anyone read the signs and tell me what it was about?

The Baoan Temple dates from 1804 and is focussed on folk religion.

I love this temple. So colorful and lively!

Since there was a festival going on (so it seemed to me, at least), there were special decorations.

These small puppets are so gorgeous and cute!

The temple has several pavilions and interior courtyards.

And there are decorations of various kinds, like colored murals, windows of Bamboo Notes, woodcarvings and cut-and-glue figurines.

The Baoan Tempel has lots of ambiance and there are many people worshipping.

As is the case with the Confucius Temple, the planes fly over quite low over the Baoan Temple as well.

As I said in the beginning of this post, there is a nice little park across the street.

More about that in tomorrow’s post. Have a nice day!
