Manila part 12; Miscellanious

October 9, 2011

Most of my time in Manila I spent alone, plus some stolen moments with Frits and a few dinners with Frits’ colleagues:
Frits, Voon Wong and Alfred

It was nice meeting y’all!

The last observation that I want to share with you, is that there were beautiful buildings here and there. To be precise: buildings that no doubt have been of great grandeur once. Not now though, not anymore….. Pretty run down now. A few buildings were well maintained, like the department of tourisme and the Court building.
What looks like a dirty rocky mass is in fact a sculptured facade.
A huge, impressive building. Funny was that you have to walk around, enter a modest door at the back and to get directed to a small, dusty office space with three desks. Et voila: the bureau of tourisme;-).

Bye, bye, Manila!
