Curly Traveller loves art. I always have, always will.
If I had had enough talent, I would have gone to an art academy after high school, but I was realistic enough to know that I was not good enough for that.

I used to sketch a lot. Then, for no specific reason, I did not sketch for almost 25 years, until I picked it up again a couple of years ago. I now sketch with a stylus on my iPad, using Paper53.
So instead, I studied something crafty and artistic. Over the years, I never really stopped sketching, only the settings and techniques changed over the years. Nowadays I am a huge fan of Paper 53, a fantastic sketching app that let’s you sketch on your iPad with a stylus. Super cool!

Sometimes I sketch scenery during my travels. Or I sketch to divert and entertain myself during long flights.
Decorating stuff -or ‘pimping’ things, as I call it- is my big joy. Look at my house (interior and exterior) and you know who I am ;-).

A friend in my garden. Do you see the mosaics behind her? And the pimped up tree? Yep, that’s me;-).
So it’s no wonder that I always have an eye out for art, craft, creations, preferably the colorful, quirky, contemporary and unusual kind.
Street art and outsider art are my favorites. Recycling, upcycling; love it.
But that’s not all I love. I can also appreciate older masters, like Van Gogh or Egon Schiele. Architecture, old and new. Photography. And so much more.
Look at the subcategories of this topic to find my blog posts about all the art I come across wherever I am.
