I’m dreaming of a pink Christmas….
I dreamed about a pink christmas tree since some years now.
Until now we always had a big, real christmas tree in the house.
Nice, but I find it quite the hassle. It’s expensive, if you add up your expenses over the years. The needles fall out rapidly and create a mess in your living room. And the branches weaken fast, after which they bend through more and more, risking for your ornaments to fall down and break.
Time for a change!
Pink Christmas Tree at last!
So this year I bought my first ever fake christmas tree and yes, it’s pink! Very, very pink.

It’s a cheap tree. Its branches leave a lot of space in between them, but I think it’s okay enough.
The top branch, on which the peak goes, lacks the firmness of the rest of the tree, making it tricky to place a peak. We managed to make it a bit more sturdy, so it works for now.
Another thing I did not realize upfront, is that all my light-strings are based on a green tree. Meaning that the wires are all dark green.
In a real tree, the wires sort of ‘disappear’ in all that green. But in a pink tree, you see each and every centimeter of dark wire. Ugly!
So next year I’ll use only light-strings with transparent wires. This year, the old light strings will have to do.
But other than that…very happy with my super-kitsch pink Christmas tree! This is what’s in it:

Lots of big and small birds have nestled in my christmas tree. The bottom left may not look like a bird, but she’s a flamingo all right. All dolled up, okay, but still a flamingo and hence a bird. Or are they?

One of a kind’s. Ornaments that are like all ‘singles’. All unique, colorful and kitsch. Bottom right are two mega maxi XXXL Christmas Balls.
Happy holidays to my readers
Wishing you all happy holidays.
May they be peaceful, warm and relaxed. Hopefully in the loving company of family, friends and/or pets.
Do you have a Christmas Tree in your house? Real or fake? Green or otherwise? Do you do the same set up and decorations each year or do you work out a new theme and scheme every time?
