Sienta la Cabeza - a hair raising experience

November 23, 2015

Esplanade Flipside Festival

I never told you about the small festival that I attended last may: Esplanade Flipside Festival. There were two shows in it that I really enjoyed. Sienta La Cabeza was one of them.

Sienta La Cabeza - a hair raising experience;-)

Sienta La Cabeza is a spanish hairdressing show.

The stage of Sienta La Cabeza at Esplanade Singapore.

In this show, two hairdressers and one DJ create theatrical head pieces on children and adults, chosen from the audience.

The costumes and makeup of the artists are made by them, using the most unexpected materials. They are fun and outrageous. If you check them out online, you will see that they have different costumes and looks.

I love the quirky, weird costumes and makeup of the three artists.

The trio creates a fun experience and environment, all with a matching soundtrack.

Quirky, fun make overs for young and old, men and women alike

Ofcourse only a handful of lucky ones get to have their hair and makeup done on stage.

Big hair by Sienta La Cabeza |curlytraveller.com

I love her big hair with orange swirl!

Adding a string of orange beads for the finishing touch.

Yes, there are also grown men that are daring enough to be styled by Sienta La Cabeza. Kudos to you, sir!

Hair style with film strips.

But it is very entertaining to watch for the not lucky ones. I looked for about half an hour, and would have easily watched longer if I could have. I was not bored yet at all.

What shall we do with her hair? I know, let’s add some styrofoam balls and spray it in three colors.

And add a mini glass with cocktail cheese snacks as the final touch;-)!

So creative and cool!

Maybe you can catch the show somewhere near you soon???

They travel the world with their show, so check out their website to see if you can catch them anywhere near you any time soon.

Gimme that phone, mum, so I can show my friends what that hairdresser did to me.

Hair celebrities for a moment

Everybody seemed to be entertained and in awe. The people who had make overs by Sienta La Cabeza became instant hair celebs that everyone wanted to take their picture with.

Instant stardom with a hairstyle by Sienta La Cabeza |curlytraveller.com

I’m a star!

Watching the show made me happy and I found it very inspiring.

Plant hair by Sienta La Cabeza |curlytraveller.com

How about this girls plant-hair? Cool, right?!

I immediately wanted to BE those hairdressers and create hair like that myself. It seems like so much fun to do!

Tropical island hair by Sienta La Cabeza |curlytraveller.com

And her hair? Blue ocean waves, a CD for a tropical island, and ….a polar bear??? Hahaha… fun!

I intend to do an outrageous hairdo on myself one day soon, for Halloween or for a dress up party.

Different makeovers by Sienta La Cabeza |curlytraveller.com

Which one is your favorite? I cannot choose between the big hair with swirl and the tropical island hair.

I have no experience in extreme hair dressing, but I hope I can pull it off anyway. When I give it a go, of course I will show you the results on the blog!

Do you like these kind of shows and make overs? Would you volunteer to get one done?

I bought styrofoam balls for Halloween, in order to create something similar on myself. But then Tokyo happened and we skipped Halloween. Ah well, next year!;-)
