Why Indonesia was the highlight of Chingay 2015

March 13, 2015

Jember Fashion Carnaval did it again!

They did it again!
Like in previous years, Indonesia was represented at Chingay’s street parade by Jember Fashion Carnaval. The costumes and make up of the performers in this troupe are just fabulous.

Is it a forest, a stupa, a skeleton or a bird?

Each costume is like a complete installation, be it a forest, a temple stupa, a dinosaur-like skeleton or a bird.

Each and every one of the performers is turned into a visual spectacle.

The costumes must be heavy to wear, and warm, in 30 degrees C with high humidity. Carrying that load for several hours in a row must be exhausting. I felt for the guys and girls inside the costumes.

Have a closer look at Chingay 2015’s best costumes

So I was blown away by Jember Fashion Carnaval’s costumes! Look at the rest of them and see for yourself why Indonesia was the highlight of Chingay 2015:

So you read my post about the (bit boring) pre-parade and the flower-full opening-scene of the parade, my post about the middle part of the Chingay show 2015, and today’s post of Jember Fashion, Chingay’s highlight? Now there’s one more Chingay-post coming up. Be prepared for the grand finale of Chingay 2015!

Not sure if my last post about Chingay will top this. But it was a finale worth mentioning, for sure. You’ll see!
