Where I stayed in Eindhoven
Initially I thought of the Pullman Eindhoven Cocagne hotel, since that has the best reviews on Tripadvisor. It sure looks like a great hotel to me.
But being a sucker for art, design and historical buildings, I changed my mind and chose for the Intel Art Hotel, located smack in the middle of Eindhoven, in De Lichttoren (= The Light Tower), one of Philips’ former factory buildings where they once made light bulbs.
To be precise: the hotel consists of a new part (with the red/brown bricks) and the old (former Philips) part (white stone).
I booked a Loft room in the old, white building.
I parked my car in the garage under the new building, took the elevator one floor up and arrived in a connecting (the old with the new building) space, which lead to the lobby and restaurant. Being in the Art Hotel, it was no surprise to find art sprinkled around in the lobby, restaurant and other communal spaces.
Through the same connecting space you reach the old part of the hotel, where my room was situated on the fifth floor. There is just one elevator going there and that one is sooooo slow! Enough time to take a selfie;-).
This is the fifth floor. The hallways are decorated with vintage Philips posters, on which the room numbers are added. Cool idea.
There we are; room 549.
The Loft rooms have 4 meter high ceilings and an industrial look. The rooms are very spacious, with a bathroom.
The color scheme is a bit dark for my taste, but other than that I do like the used materials. Like the washed walls, a silver wall in the bathroom and an industrial desk.
The light level was not high enough for me, but maybe I just did not figure out how to make the lamps shine brighter. Funny, if you realize that I was staying in a Philips building, manufacturer of lightbulbs, hahaha…. I guess I could/should have asked for instructions from the staff, but honestly, I could not be bothered. Time is precious;-).
Oh, what IS very important, people, is to realize that it’s always a good moment for champagne, even when you are traveling alone. I brought a bottle from home, put it in the minibar in my room and opened it one evening when I was going to have a hot bath. Be honest, what feels more luxurious and tastes better than a glass of chilled bubbles, while feeling your muscles relax in the warm water…?! Hmmmmmmm, yummie!
Where to sleep in Eindhoven
I have said it before and I will say it again: use Tripadvisor to make your choice!
What hotel is right for you depends on so many factors, from taste to location to your budget. Tripadvisor gives all the answers!
According to Tripadvisor there are 25 hotels in Eindhoven. Ofcourse there are other types of accommodation besides hotels: there are 18 B&B’s and 8 Specialty Lodgings (two other categories from Tripadvisor). Further there are vacation rentals (also to be found on Tripadvisor) and ofcourse you can explore options like AirBnB (indicating over 400 accommodations in and around Eindhoven) and couch surfing.
My review of the Intel Art Hotel Eindhoven
My personal experience in Eindhoven is in the Art Hotel and my stay there was fine. I did not eat or drink anything at the hotel, not even breakfast, so I cannot review F&B at the Art Hotel Eindhoven.
The location is perfect, the staff is friendly and the interior design is cool.
My only complaint would be the elevators. These are sparse and superslow, which can be annoying.
One night in a Loft room (parking included) set me back a bit more than 100 euros.
How about you? Is style a key element for you when you choose for a certain hotel? Do you like the industrial look of the Intel Art Hotel Eindhoven?
And how about champagne? Do you reserve that drink of the gods for special occasions or are you like me, not needing any excuses for a glass of bubbly?
Disclaimer: this is NOT a sponsored post! (I rarely have sponsored posts on the blog, but if I do, then there will be a clear notification about that.)

I like the desk! It would be handy for blogging at! And I love that you thought to bring some bubbles from home. I must do that next time I travel and stay in a hotel!
Good idea;-)!
Cool!! Thanks for the tip. We will be heading to Eindhoven in the near future to see a friend and I will use all your information. The hotel is number one. I just want clean, nice, friendly, good beds. Like most people, but art is always a bonus. When I was in Copenhagen I chose a design hotel as well.
Greetje
The hotel’s location is just perfect!
