Skatepark@Somerset. Re-opened and refreshed.

June 25, 2014

There are two skateparks and youth parks around where I live. I wrote about one of them, Skatepark@Somerset, here.

I love having it around, since there are a couple of walls and surfaces that youngsters use for murals and graffiti. I walk along it regularly and am always looking forward to seeing new pieces.

The park recently got revamped.

Before the make-over it looked like this:

Now it looks like this.

What happened?

Well, one day I found the park closed and fenced of; an unpleasant surprise. Fortunately it turned out to be just a temporary closure for renovation.

Recently it was re-opened.

It still looks a bit ‘clean’ and ‘virgin’, but new murals were put there almost right away. Cool!

Favorite 1.

And now every time I walk past it I am excited if there is a new piece on one of the walls.

In case you did not see some of the work from before the renovation, here are some #trowback pictures:

Favorite 3.

It’s turning into a nice collection, right?!

I marked my top three of the above pieces in the captions. Which are your top three?
