China House in Penang. Art, shopping, food and drinks.

June 16, 2014

China House in Penang is a great hub for the arts, to catch a band or to hang out with the cool people.

I enjoyed our evening there tremendously.

The location itself is cool; a big building (formerly three heritage buildings) with 14 different rooms, corridors and functions (bakery, shops, gallery, restaurants).

We had dinner here and the food was lovely.

The decor is artistic, cosy and cool, with lots of murals, graffiti and art.

Open air courtyard.
WANT!!!

There are regularly performances, like poetry, music, visual arts and so on.

There is a lot of animal love going on in China House, as the small sign under the cat indicates.

In several of the 14 rooms you can either have a drink, eat some pie, have a coffee or have dinner. There are spaces and nooks everywhere for you to sit, hang, look, chat, relax, work on your iPad and so on.

We had pre-dinner drinks in this bar area.

If ever you are in Georgetown (Penang, Malaysia), be sure to check out this place. Find out if there happens to be an event scheduled or just go their for drinks or dinner. You will surely love it there and have a great time.
