Curly Traveller’s tips on curls and frizz

February 10, 2014

About two weeks ago I wrote an article about curls and frizz for the successful style and fashion website 40+style .

Ofcourse I am not a professional on that topic, so I wrote it from my own experiences and from what I learned so far.

One of the wonderful things about blogging is that people comment on your articles, thus sometimes correcting you, adding info or simply disagreeing. When brought in a friendly, positive way, this is usually interesting and educational.

One of the commentors on Sylvia’s blog 40+style warned me for the products I recommended. Especially for the silicones. They can build up on your hair, doing more bad then good.

Two websites on curls that I consider real experts are NaturallyCurly and CurlyNikki.
(Be sure to check them out, if you have curly hair. They have tons of information.)

On CurlyNikki I found a clear and useful article about silicones in hair products. Unfortunately the products I use and advice indeed have the type of silicones that CurlyNikki warns for. The site luckily also tells you how to get rid of silicone-build-up.

I am very happy with my hair, and taking care of it kinda works, by using a variety of products, and by sticking to a number of do’s and dont’s.

Quite a good hair day;-).

But I still have not found The Product or The Approach for treating frizzy, curly hair.

Looks healthy and non-frizzy this way; dream hair. Maybe a bit curlier.

That’s why I hereby invite all readers to share their tips, experiences and advices in the comments on this post. Your input is highly appreciated!

Hard to control those locks!

Viva las curls, frizz be gone!

This is one problem I don’t have. My hair is as straight as a bone. Maybe even straighter. How I would love to have some curl! But we always crave what we don’t have : )

Argan oil is my favourite thing! Lots of people also swear by a Brazillian blow dry.
