It is an interesting area to walk around. Too bad that most of the merchants don’t speak english. They were also not very friendly or accommodating when I asked them questions about what was for sale.
Maybe because they don’t speak english combined with being tired of ignorant tourists like me. Not buying anything, just wasting their time by asking stupid questions. Hahaha….

| Intriguing products, that I would have loved to know more about. |
For me a lot of the products looked weird and exotic.

| Who can tell me what these are? |
Most of it is dried seafood, like sea cucumbers, squid, sea stars, abalone, seaweed and oysters.
Then there are Chinese medicine ingredients, like ginseng and bird’s nests. You can also get all sorts of mushrooms.
Further there is a whole assortment of dry sausages and dehydrated meats for sale.
And then you will see things that quite bother me, like deer antlers, horns, shark fins, snakes, lizards and turtle shells.
There even used to be a crocodile restaurant, but I think that does not exist anymore. Fortunately;-).
What do you think of this area and this merchandise? Interesting? Yummie? Unethical? Have you been there? Did you ever buy stuff here? How was it?

The place looks interesting because of all those exotic and weird things on sale. But yeah, some stuff is really disturbing to look at.
Definitely, Olga:-(
This looks just like Chinatown here in Toronto. It always grosses me out to be honest. And it smells. Bad. And no one speaks English there either! LOL

Hahaha…it’s so comforting, Suzanne, to know that some people are even less adventurous then I am;-).
