Restaurant Kitchen at W Hong Kong. Part 2.

October 4, 2013

Yesterday, I showed you the decor of the breakfast buffet area. Now it’s time to have a look at the actual food.

As I said yesterday, there is food for every one’s wishes and tastes: asian, western, hot and cold.

The choice in bread and pastry is enormous. It all looks so pretty and delicious.

Imagine how hard and tempting this was for a diabetic with a sweet tooth aka ME!;-)

I tried to restrain myself and stick to my diet. I succeeded at breakfast for about 20 out of 30 days. On the other 10 days I did not go overboard either, but on those days I allowed myself a chocolate croissant and incidentally a muffin.

All in all it was a lousy month in regards of sticking to my diabetic regime and I gained several kg’s. Hope my average bloodsugar levels will not show up too high in my next lab tests!

I wanted one of those chocolate sprinkled doughnuts so badly. But I did not allow myself. You have to draw the line somewhere;-).
OMG, the water runs in my mouth just looking at all these muffins and all!
Seeing this dessert was very special for me, since I play Mah Jong since 25 years now. No, I did not taste it, but it looks fun!
These chocolate croissants were my sin on a number of days;-).

Then there is a whole range of yoghurts, fruit juices, fruits and add ons, like muesli and nuts. Yoghurt with some fruit is my normal breakfast, so that’s what I had each morning.

There is charcuterie:

And there’s a whole range of hot and/or asian food, neither of which is for me in the mornings;-).

Did you get hungry from reading this?

Tomorrow is part 3 and last part of this mini-series about Kitchen. Stay tuned for the finale;-).

Bon appetit!

The first part made me very hungry…pastries…croissants!…then the meat and the asian food came along and got rid of that craving.

Since my husband spends lots of time in Asian he says he adapts to eating the same food in the morning as at lunch and supper. I think I wouldn’t be eating very much for breakfast which would really get me down since that is my favourite meal of the day.

The smell of Asian warm food in the mornings sometimes makes me nausea;-). An omelet is the only warm food I could eat. But usually it’s yoghurt and fruits for me.
