Mughal murals in Udaipur

October 24, 2012

Walking through the streets of Udaipur you will see that many walls of houses, temples and palaces, are decorated with Mughal-style murals.

Often around doorposts, depicting elephants, men on horses, maharaja’s, the mustached sungod and elegant ladies. Here are some examples:

So although I did not have any success in my quest for contemporary, street art murals during my last months in India, I was really happy to run into these! A whole new style for me and very beautiful, I find.
I wish we would do this more in the Netherlands; it would make everything so much more colorful and fun!

  • Revisited Junkie's Corner last week with @megf68 . This place still is as weird and wonderful as when I first visited it. The amount of junk, antiques, treasures and strange objects is jaw-dropping! If you wanna find out more about this place, visit my blog and type Junkie's Corner in the search bar. #junkiescorner #whatissingapore #instasg #Singapore #treasuretrove #weirdplaces
