River Hongbao 2013, Singapore

February 28, 2013

Enough already, with all these post with excuses for not blogging for three months!!!

So three weeks ago I left for Singapore again…
I looked forward to that very much, since I did not get to see my friends a whole lot, the last year:-(.

We would only be there for 2 weeks, before flying of to India, so I had to use my time well! But…..I went down with the flu almost right away. Bummer!

Still managed to see a bit of my friends and of Chinese New Year, and see an exhibition, fortunately.

As soon as I was recovered enough, we went out for dinner with our friends Sylvia and Michiel. It happened to be the opening night of the River Hongbao festival. And as everything in Singapore, it was opened with a bang….big fireworks. We sat front row, so to speak.

Sylvia, Michiel and a glimpse of Frits at the Fullerton

Sylvia, looking stylish.

The Year of the Snake, even of the Black WaterSnake, so the Singaporeans said.
We were not the only ones;-)
The lanterns were beautiful; large chinese pots with the chinese zodiac signs in them.

And there were birds and blossoms….
…and the God of Fortune…as always…
And moving and sound making musician children…
Gigantic tableau with Merlion.

Yes, after a few lesser years, this year’s River Hongbao was beautiful as ever!!!

Beautiful. Really pretty photographs. My favourites are 11 (flowers and birds) and 22 with the fishes. They do have quite a display in Singapore. Never seen anything like it in Holland.
Lovely to see Stylish Sylvia with her Michiel.

Thank you for stopping by and for commenting, Greetje. Yes, they are big on that in Singapore, so that’s perfect for my taste…hahaha. And Sylvia and I chatted the night away, especially about blogging, of course;-).
