During one of my walks on Hong Kong Island, along Hollywood Road, in Sheung Wan and Central, I came across a teeny tiny art gallery with an even teeny tiny art exhibit, called:
"10 years" Solo Exhibition by Siy Tak Yin,
From Desire to Paradise Installation Art and Painting Exhibition.
I was drawn inside because of the vivid colors and the happy feeling. Also one character has a comic book appearance, which I like.
The character and art piece below is called BeebiPeace.
There are two of him. One is a big pluche version that travels in the real world to spread happiness.
A few weeks earlier I wrote about an other exhibit in Hong Kong, the one from Emma Hack at Cat Street Galleries. An exhibition that I did not stumble upon, but that I looked for explicitly.
Which lady's art do you like better? Emma Hack's tromp-l-oeuil pictures or the red artworks by Siy Tak Yin? Difficult to choose, right? Emma Hack's work is more esthetical and 'quiet', Siy Tak Yin's work is loud and fun(-ky).
Hm, apples and pears, I think....not a fair choice, maybe?;-).

Yes, it sure stands out. I thought it were eyeballs too, but if you look closer they are all little chinese doll heads!
