As I said in my post about Jintong, we happily joined in on all the touristic rituals along the railway.
We strolled through Houtong to see it's cats.
We did the bamboo roll thing in Jintong.
We balanced on the dead end rail tracks in Jintong.
We bought ourselves a Sky Lantern at Grandma's Flying Lantern Shop in Shifen.
We chose one with multiple colors and painted each two of the four sides.
Then we took place on the tracks for a photoshoot. A picture of each side of the lantern.
And when it filled itself with enough hot air, we released it.
There she goes..... higher and higher...
(yes, it is a 'she', with all her soft colors ;-).)
Yes, we were Super Tourists for the day and we had fun with it.
Do you let up lanterns, light candles in churches, write wishes on bamboo, leave lovelocks on bridges and so on? Or do you prefer to stay far from rituals like these?

| Beautiful scenery, no cats in sight, exploded hair;-) |
