In my previous article “10 reasons why La Favela is Bali’s coolest place” I showed you around the awesomeness that is La Favela.
La Favela Seminyak Part 2
In this article I’ll give you a peek inside some parts of this super funky restaurant-club that I did not show you yet:
Private dining rooms Brazilian Style
Along this gallery you’ll find some doors that lead to different private dining rooms.
They are decorated in a way that makes you feel as if you are sitting in the living room of a typical Brazilian home.
You expect La Mamma to come from behind that door and serve you your meal any second now.
Fantastic for small groups or families and for special occasions.
Lounging in the toilets
The ladies toilets look like a salon. The restroom area is so spacious and attractively decorated, that I wouldn’t mind lounging there for a bit.
In this case the name ‘restroom’ is totally appropriate, as far as I’m concerned.
The walls: stencil art and leather
The stencil art on the walls is amazing. The artist uses well-known images from history, pop culture as well as images of children. He mixes and matches, creating new imagery, combining that with aged walls, crackled paint and graffiti tags.
I managed to find out out that the artist responsible for all the wallpaintings is someone named XUFUX or XUF.
And how amazing is this leather relief wallpaper ???
Madonna’s, saints and mini-altars
All the religious paraphernalia are of course totally up my alley!
Luigi and Gonzalo; owner, designer, chef
If all this made you curious about the two guys -Luigi and Gonzalo- behind Bali’s hippest places, find out more through this interview. Also check out this interview with one of the two men: Luigi Ferrara.
This review contains a video clip of La Favela’s opening party, showing off their Volkswagen Van Bar.
Well, that’s all, folks. For my next post, I’m taking you on a shopping spree. Get your wallets ready!
