First of all the ‘store’ is quite hard to find, since the address, 2 Turf Club Road, is more of an indication then a real address, since Junkie’s Corner has none.
Around the corner of 2 Turf Club Road (where the Blue House is located) you will see this scene. That tells you that you arrived at the right place.
Welcoming you at Junkie’s Corner.
Once we found it our jaws dropped to the floor. In what looks like a jungle forest stands this enormous hall, barrack, shed, warehouse or however you want to call it, filled to the brim with….with…with …. stuff.
That is one long, long warehouse!
An old horse carriage; really?!
There are several of these red booths. Wonder what they were….Booths for selling products?
Vintage, junk, antiques, furniture, art, toys, asian, western, old, not so old….you name it, it’s there.
One of the entrances.
Owner Uncle Charlie collected this stuff for years; simply amazing!
Let me show you around:
As you saw above there is a lot of stuff outside, in front of the building. Once inside you enter a maze of narrow passages with junk and antiques lined up, behind each other, on top of each other, everywhere.
There is another layer of items on that low roof!
As far as I can tell there is no order in it at all. Some items are broken, dusty, in bad shape, while others seem in good shape or renovated. There is cheap trash and items that look special and valuable.
There are toy cars, planes and tricycles:
Not a really vintage toy;-).
I stumbled upon an old cash register (reminding me of the one my parents had when I was very young), an old jukebox from Belgium!, a manga slot machine, a giant manga-doll-head and some mannequins:
My parents had similar ones in their shops when I was a kid.
There is this jaw chomping baby godzilla, a strange stove and a catholic kneeling bench:
Or are you looking for a Chinese lion head, three water-pouring goddesses, an elephant or two lions? They are there!!!
Beautiful for in a garden!
Fun! Without the bucket and hose;-)
I like this pair of lions very much!
Ofcourse there are also tons of furnitures in every possible style and state:
70’s style, anyone?
There are ample items with mother-in-pearl inlay.
Take notice of the hand-set: two chairs and a table. They are smallish, by the way.
This carved fence/door is gorgeous!!!
Need some art for your walls or in your hallway? Lots of finds at Junkie’s Corner!
I like horns and skulls, just not these ones.
There is even an ugly swiss kitsch cuckoo clock.
I really like these glass panels with beautifully painted bird sceneries on them.
Ok then, some last discoveries I did in this huge treasure trove to finish it of:
So what do you think? Isn’t this place just unbelievable?! I know I love it.
take mall The Grandstand on Turf Club Road as your orientation point. Just before entering the premises, there is a road to the right, leading to the Blue House. There is a small sign indicating that. Take that road and drive past the Blue House. At a certain moment the road makes a curve to the left. Not far after that curve, is Junkie’s Corner. So just keep following the road.
