As I explained yesterday, there are also daily performances on a stage on the Float. And just next to the Float, in front of the tribunes, are chinese handicrafts and asian street food.
Let’s have a look:
There are balloons for sale, like this horse-balloon.
You can buy various sorts of light accessories, like this horse-ears-tiara.
|Then there is a huge tent with street food, named Food Street;-).
I love the little cloud lanterns. I would love them at home and know where to buy them online, but they are not cheap.
….bamboo rolls stuffed with rice…
Here we see the rolls after they are steamed.
I don’t know what is in the grass baskets, topped with a cherry….
Sea cucumber on the left and giant shrimps on the right???
Tomatos and strawberry’s.
And of course there is a lot more food to choose from.
This booth drew my attention, because of the girls in tribal attire.
They are from a certain region in South China and are promoting their culture, tribal jewelry and costumes.
I love their looks; gorgeous!
I tried to talk to the girls, but they did not speak english. If I understood it correctly they come from the province Wunan. Or is Yunnan?
They gave me this free promo material. Pretty pictures in it, but the text is all in Chinese;-).
Anyway, the dot marks the place where they come from.
In the book we see different tribal costumes.
This is another picture from the brochure. There are some clothes like these for sale at River Hongbao, I think.
Instead of clothes, I bought me a Tribal Barbie, dressed like the chinese girls that were present.
They have a large variety of these dolls for sale at River Hongbao, all dressed differently.
They only cost SGD 10! Highly recommended!
Oh, and there is also a fair with fun rides and children’s activities.
In other words: River Hongbao is good for an evening of fun, food and entertainment for the whole family. It is still on this week; be sure not to miss it!
Do you like Asian food? Which food above appeals the most to you? What about Barbie dolls? I had at least a dozen when I was young. I still have most of them. Strange for a grown-up?
