I am not sure what they all are, but I think I recognized monkeys, camels, horses, goats, deer, dogs, waterbuffalo’s, bulls, cows, birds and elephants.
Here they are:
|What are they doing? Laughing? Screaming? Drowning? Having fun in the water?|
|And in big quantities, of course. Impressive!|
But this one is my favorite; very rudimentary, unpolished and raw. Don’t know what it is, however. A dog? A black panther? No idea.
Well, folks, that’s all, regarding Nek Chand’s Rock Garden. I hope you enjoyed it.
Initially I was quite disappointed with my pictures, but after some heavy editing I am pleased.
To my defense I can say that it was hot. Sooooooo hot!!! And we were there between 12 and 2, the hottest moment of the day. There was NO shadow in the area with the sculptures.
I had been dying to see this, but now I felt I was just dying….from the heat.
I am not a sweaty person, but then and there the sweat gushed from my forehead, into my eyes. Make-up in my eyes, camera almost sliding out of my sweaty hands, not being able to see well on the screen of my camera and the ultra-harsh light fading all the colors out.
Not the ideal photography circumstances. So taking all that into account, I am very glad with what I managed to come up with.
I hope you are too;-).
Tomorrow I will end this reportage with a post about the town of Chandigarh. After that, I will take you back to Delhi.
